EcoGen 2010 Clean Energy Awards
The Clean Energy Awards will recognise excellence, innovation and outstanding achievement in Australia’s clean energy industry. The awards will be presented at the EcoGen 2010 Gala Dinner on Tuesday 7 September.The Awards are:
Award for Most Outstanding Clean Energy Project
Award for Most Outstanding Clean Energy Technology Innovation
Award for Most Outstanding Contribution to the Industry
Award for Young Industry Leader
Entries should be no more than 800 words, excluding any appendices, and presented in Word or PDF format. Don’t forget to provide your own details, including a contact name, phone, email and mailing address. You may be contacted if more information is needed to process the nomination.
Entries are due by COB Thursday 12 August 2010.
The awards will be judged by a panel of clean energy industry experts.

Award for Most Outstanding Clean Energy Project
Project submission guidelines
The project must be located in Australia or in the Asia Pacific region.
The project must be have been commissioned since September 2009 and be continuing in operation.
Please provide as much information as possible. Entries should not exceed 800 words.
- Background project details (150 words)
- Project name
- Location
- Owner, developer, construction contractor(s), operator
- Capacity
- Commissioning date
- Fuel source, prime mover, technical details
- Descriptive project details, including but not limited to: (500 words)
- The site
- Technology
- Contractors
- Energy purchase and supply
- Environmental benefit/impact
- Occupational health and safety features
- Any other distinguishing features
- Success of the project to date
- Future outlook
- Funding arrangements and acknowledgements
- Why does your project deserve the Award for Most Outstanding Clean Energy Project? (100 words)
- Two to four high resolution images of the project.
Award for Most Outstanding Clean Energy Technology Innovation
Technology submission guidelines
The product/technology must:
- Have been developed in Australia;
- Have been launched in 2009 or 2010; and
- Currently be in use in a commercial setting or planned for use in a commercial setting in 2011
Please provide as much information as possible. Entries should not exceed 800 words.
- Product/technology details, including: (450 words)
- Inventor(s)
- People and companies involved
- Product specifications
- Application of the technology, including details of any trials the technology has been involved in, details of any commercial applications, and the success of the technology to date
- Economic viability and outlook, including how this product/technology will contribute to lowering the cost of clean energy and/or improving efficiencies of clean energy generation
- What is innovative or revolutionary about this product/technology? (150 words)
- How has/will this technology contribute to a cleaner energy society? How will this technology benefit the Australian clean energy industry? (150 words)
- Two high resolution images of the project should be submitted with the application.
Award for Most Outstanding Contribution to the Industry
You can nominate an individual who has made a major and sustained contribution to the clean energy industry in any area of activity within the industry. The award recognises a contribution over and above the call of duty (It does not recognise contributions to a specific company but rather to the whole industry).
Nominees will be judged on their overall contribution, including through their actions, initiative, leadership in the industry and the broader Australasian community, any other specific achievements such as recognition through other awards, grants or funding etc.
Please provide as much information as possible. Entries should not exceed 800 words.
Young Industry Leader Award
You can nominate an individual who has made major and sustained contributions to the clean energy industry in any area of activity within the industry. The award recognises a contribution over and above the call of duty (It does not recognise contributions to a specific company but rather to the whole industry).
Nominees will be judged on their overall contribution, including through their actions, initiative, leadership in the industry and the broader Australasian community, any specific achievements and recognition through other awards or outside the industry.
Nominees must be 30 years or younger as at 30 August 2010.
Please provide as much information as possible. Entries should not exceed 800 words.
